In the beginning
Alexandre St-Amour grew up in the trade. His grandfather did it, his father did it. ASA Rénovation et Ébénisterie was founded in 2013.
The company started out restoring exterior ornamental woodwork in the heart of Montreal's old neighbourhoods. Then came the handover of a complete cabinetry workshop, from the first generation to the third, Alexandre. That's where the custom know-how comes from, and it's why our general renovation company can offer you one-of-a-kind pieces within a conventional renovation.
What hasn't changed
The team is complete, in-house and well established. The professionals who come into your home are the ones who were leaving the previous site, and they're the ones who'll be there on the last day. It's a choice about how the company is structured, because it's the only way to maintain a standard without renegotiating it at every step.
A subcontractor executes one isolated step, then leaves for their next contract. A multidisciplinary team connects one step to the next, and can immediately redo what isn't up to par, without discussion or delay.
The kind of project we look for
Jobs where the constraints are real challenges: a new bathroom on a concrete floor that can't be drilled; an extreme transformation despite a municipality that only accepts repairs; an initial plan that doesn't meet the client's real needs.
On a simple job with no constraint, a cheaper contractor will do just fine, and we'll tell you so.
The people we work with
Engineers who are members of the OIQ, architects who are members of the OAQ, technologists, designers. On projects that touch the structure, the engineer is a mandatory, involved partner, not just a signature picked up before starting.
